Benetech CEO Jim Fruchterman to speak at Summit15
The Social Enterprise Alliance (SEA) has announced that SEA member, Board Chair Emeritus, and longtime social entrepreneur Jim Fruchterman will be among the featured speakers at Summit15. Fruchterman founded the nonprofit Benetech in 1989, “where open innovation meets social empowerment, and bold ideas change the world.”
Benetech develops technology to serve the needs of people around the world in three fundamental areas: literacy, human rights and environment, focusing on technologies that would not be profitable for the private sector to develop. He says his role at Summit15 is to fire people up and give them a sense of optimism.
“Social entrepreneurs need extreme enthusiasm to succeed. They have to be relentless,” Fruchterman said. “Young people today understand the power of technology to play a crucial role in change.”
“Jim is a pioneer in social enterprise, and particularly in using technology as an engine for positive social change. We are thrilled to have him sharing his insights into this changing landscape at Summit15 in September,” said Jim Schorr, CEO of SEA.
Summit15 will be held September 16-18 in Denver. SEA expects to host over 500 participants who will hear from about 80 speakers. The SEA Summit provides the opportunity to learn, connect and collaborate with thought leaders in the field.
