Denver Deputy Mayor Cary Kennedy will speak at Summit15
The Social Enterprise Alliance (SEA) has announced that Denver Deputy Mayor and Chief Financial Officer Cary Kennedy will speak at Summit15. Prior to joining the Mayor’s office in 2011, Kennedy served four years as Colorado Treasurer.
“Social enterprises and local governments share a common mission – to improve the everyday lives of people living and working in their communities,” Kennedy said. “It only makes sense that they partner in efforts that generate long-term economic and social value. “
Kennedy said Denver is among many cities moving forward with social impact financing of social enterprises. “Denver is at the forefront of efforts to develop new markets to achieve greater social progress,” she said.
“Summit15 is being held in Denver for many good reasons,” said Jim Schorr, CEO of SEA. “Denver is among the nation’s most progressive cities, especially when it comes to public-private partnerships and policies to encourage socially minded businesses. Cary has long been a force in Colorado politics and is known as a dynamic speaker.”
Summit15 will be held September 16-18 in Denver. SEA expects to host over 500 participants, who will hear from about 80 speakers. The SEA Summit provides the opportunity to learn, connect and collaborate with thought leaders in the field.
