CEO, Thistle Farms
Hal is the CEO of Thistle Farms, a nonprofit organization based in Nashville, Tennessee that provides women escaping addiction, trafficking, and prostitution with supportive housing and employment in one of its social enterprises. Previously, Hal was founder and CEO of Zeumo, a company that creates closed communication networks for health systems, which he later sold to The Advisory Board. Hal also served as the CEO for the Oasis Center, a nonprofit that works with at-risk youth, and helped to build Bright Horizons Childcare and the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children, which created play spaces in shelters serving homeless families. He was recognized as the “Best in Business for Nonprofit Organizations” by the Nashville Business Journal, received the “Community Champion Award” from the Human Rights Campaign, and was named “Nashvillian of the Year” by the Nashville Scene.
