Vice President, Manager of Social Impact, BBVA Compass
Tony Moraga is the Manager of Social Impact for BBVA Compass and leads the bank’s portfolio of corporate social responsibility programs aligned with global objectives, such as BBVA Momentum and the Center for Financial Education. In addition, he manages US-specific initiatives for CDFI capacity building and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Previously, he served for four years as the bank’s local champion for lending, investments and services for community development efforts in Northern and Southern California. He managed certain activities to support low- and moderate-income communities, such as financial education, charitable contributions, strategic investments, employee engagement and disaster responsiveness. Prior to his role at BBVA Compass, Tony led various non-profit organizations and programs focused on economic development and asset-building to support the LGBTQ community. His expertise is in organizational development, business strategy and access to capital ranging from micro-finance to private equity. Having run both local and national organizations, he has accumulated a wealth of experience in community development, entrepreneurship and social impact.
